Boris Morros

Boris Morros Mikhailovich (Russian Борис Михайлович Морроз; * January 1, 1891 in St. Petersburg, Russia, † January 8, 1963 in New York City, New York) was a Russian, later American film producer, film composer and musical director.

Life

Boris Morros appeared in the 1930s and 1940s in numerous film productions as musical director with, often as a composer. 1936 was the musical director of the film The Jungle Princess ( The Jungle Princess ) in his hands. Cecil B. DeMille's film for The buccaneers of Louisiana ( 1938), he was responsible for the music along with George Antheil. Also for Henry Hathaway's movie pirates in Alaska he steered the music at Dimitri Tiomkin along with Frank Loesser and Burton Lane.

Occasionally, he also served as producer. Among the most famous of the many Hollywood productions, for which he worked, one of the classics of Western genres Ringo ( Stagecoach ) by director John Ford Here Morros had held the musical director. His colleague Richard Hageman, William Franke Harling, John Leipold and Leo Shuken were honored for the processing of film music with an Oscar.

Morros worked both as a KGB agent as well as an FBI informant.
