Boris Uspensky

Boris Andreyevich Uspensky (Russian Борис Андреевич Успенский, scientific transliteration Boris Uspensky Andreevič; born March 1, 1937 in Moscow) is, along with Yuri Lotman, the most important representative of Russian semiotics.

He taught at the Moscow State University, visiting professorships held in Austria and the U.S. and is a professor in Naples. Assumption is the author of 400 fonts to theoretical linguistics, the history of the Church Slavonic and Russian language, culture and science to art and Geschichtssemiotik.

Boris Uspensky brother is the mathematician Vladimir Uspenski.
