The Bormida di Millesimo

The Bormida is an approximately 150 km long river in the regions of Liguria and Piedmont in northwest Italy. From the eastern and western Bormida di Spigno Bormida di Millesimo that spring on the north side of the Ligurian Apennines, forms after their confluence west of Acqui Terme, the Bormida. This also constantly flowing towards the northeast to enable around 64 kilometers on the verge amplified by the water of its tributary Orba near Alessandria to culminate in the municipality of Pietra Marazzi in the Tanaro.

In the so-called Battle of Marengo, a village near the confluence, the Bormida was the scene of a river crossing and a subsequent withdrawal by the participating Austrian.
