Born is a town in the West Heath in the north of the district Borde in Saxony -Anhalt.

Geography

Born is located in the southwestern part of the Colbitz - Letzlinger Heide, the largest continuous heathland area in central Europe. The area is densely wooded and falls to the west ( to Ohretal ) gradually. The county town of Haldenleben is about 12, the state capital Magdeburg about 35 km away. The district of the district is bordered to the north by the Altmark Salzwedel.

History

Economy and infrastructure

Born is located on the main road 71, which opens up the western heathland in north-south direction.
