Bornstedt lies about 7 km south-west of Eisleben.

History

In a resulting 881-899 Directory of tithing of Hersfeld Monastery Bornstedt ( Brunistat ) is mentioned as requiring a tenth place in the district of Friesland field. In Bornstedt was also deserted pig turning. At an altitude east of the village are the ruins of the castle Bornstedt.
