Borut Mavrič

Borut Mavrič ( born March 27, 1970 in Šempeter pri Gorici, SFR Yugoslavia ) is a former Slovenian football player.

National

Borut Mavrič made ​​until the late age of 33, his first international match for Slovenia. On 18 February 2004 he made his debut against Poland. In the 0:2 defeat, he came on in the 65th minute for Marko Simeunovic. His last game for Slovenia he made on 11 October 2006 at the European Championship qualifier against Belarus. In the spring of 2007, he resigned from the national team because he wanted to concentrate on his former club Greuther Fürth more. Overall Mavrič denied 18 internationals.

Achievements

His greatest successes were the Slovenian league title in 1996 with HIT Gorica, and the Slovenian Cup victories in 2001, 2002 (both with NK Gorica HIT ) and 2003 ( with NK Olimpija Ljubljana).

Clubs

He completed a total of 72 games in the second division for SpVgg Greuther Fürth. On 10 December 2006 he was in the game against SpVgg Unterhaching due to a rough tackle his first red card in the second division and a lock of three league games. In March 2007 Mavrič broke his contract in Fürth early on because he was unhappy with his new role Substitute goalkeeper behind Stephan Loboué.
