Borys Buryak

Borys Buryak (Ukrainian Борис Буряк ) ( born 1953 in the village Podwirne, Chernivtsi Oblast ) is a Ukrainian painter. He lives and works in Lviv ( Lvov ), Ukraine, where he runs a private school for drawing and painting.

In 1974 he graduated from the School of Art I. Trusz and studied until 1979 at the Academy of Arts in Lviv. He is a winner of the Artists' Union of Ukraine in 1991, the international competition " New Names" in Moscow ( 1992). Since 1986 he has been involved in national and international exhibitions, including: Lviv, Rzeszow (Poland ), New York, Lyon, Metz, Angere (France ), Kiev (Ukraine ), Moscow, Vienna, Brussels, Falkenburd (Netherlands ) Aachen, Dortmund, Munich, Wachtberg- Berkum ( Germany ) and Prague. In 1998 he participated in an exhibition in Siegen University Library.

Works of Borys Buryak be found in numerous museums in Ukraine, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, Russia, USA, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. In August 2009, a retrospective exhibition of his works at the National Museum of Lviv was held.
