Borzya

Borsja (Russian Борзя ) is a city in the region, Transbaikalia (Russia) with 31 379 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The city is located in the steppes of southern Transbaikalia, about 40 km from the Mongolian border and 70 km from the border with China away, about 400 km south-east of the regional capital of Chita, the river Borsja, a right tributary of the Onon.

The city is Borsja the region administratively subordinated directly and also the administrative center of the homonymous Rajons.

History

A settlement on the territory of the present town was founded in the 18th century. After the opening of the railway line 1899, made ​​around the station larger settlement developed into a transport and commercial center of the southeastern Transbaikalia. 1900, the settlement was officially the name Suvorovsky, after the Russian commander Alexander Suvorov awarded. Economy and infrastructure
