Boscobel is a small town ( with a status of "City" ) in Grant County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. In 2010 Boscobel had 3231 inhabitants.

Geography

Boscobel is located in southwest Wisconsin, the Wisconsin River, which in the border of Iowa forming Mississippi flows 45 km west-southwest of the southern shore. The border with Illinois is located 80 km south of the city.

Neighboring towns are Blue River (13,6 km northeast), Fennimore ( 18.1 km SSE ), Woodman (10.2 km southwest) and Steuben (16,2 km to the northwest ).

The nearest large towns are La Crosse (110 km north-northwest ), Wisconsin's capital, Madison (119 km east), Rockford, Illinois (201 km southeast) and Dubuque, Iowa ( 83.5 km to the south).

Traffic

U.S. Highway 61 and the Wisconsin State Highway 133 and County Highway M and S pass through Boscobel. All other roads are minor roads, some unpaved roadways and within local roads.

Along the Wisconsin River runs for freight railway line of the Wisconsin and Southern Railroad, which continues from the Mississippi River to Madison and from there to Milwaukee.

With the Boscobel Airport is located in the northeast of the city limits, a small airfield. The nearest major airports are the Dubuque Regional Airport ( 96.3 km to the south) and the Dane County Regional Airport in Madison Wisconsin's capital (127 km east).
