Savez hokeja na ledu of Bosnia and Herzegovina ( Bosnian - Herzegovinian Hockey Association ) is the national Hockey Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

History

The Association was inducted into the International Ice Hockey Federation on 10 May 2001. The association is one of the IIHF full members. Current president Haris Muhić.

The association takes care mainly to the implementation of the Games of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national ice hockey team. In addition, the association organizes the sport at club level, including in Bosnia and Herzegovina Hockey League and in Bosnia and Herzegovina Hockey Cup.

Cleavage of the Association

Three of the four league teams - HK Ilidža 2010 HK Stari Grad and HK Sarajevo - decided in 2011 for several reasons, their own association to establish the " HSFBIH " and its own league. This was done without the HK Bosna, who planned anyway, but instead participate in the Total TV Hockey League. They criticized the work of the Association, which she reproached, to favor the HK Bosna. All leaders of the SLBIH are from HK Bosna and only members of this association members of the U16 national team that took part in the Bihu tournament in Turkey in 2011. Only the HK Bosna it should have been allowed to participate in the common league with Macedonian, Bulgarian and Greek clubs. They also accused the Association, the HK Ilidža 2010 not to include. In addition, the SHLBIH lack of financial transparency, especially with regard to the contributions by the IIHF was held.

The newly formed association organized initially implementing the 2011/12 season and the Cup competition in 2012.

So far, the association has not been recognized by the IIHF, since there is already an existing and recognized national association.
