Bosnia and Herzegovina national basketball team

The Bosnian - Herzegovinian national basketball team is the national selection of the Bosnian basketball player. It is determined by the Bosnian Basketball Association Košarkaški savez of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the string is representing Bosnia and Herzegovina in international tournaments or friendly matches.

History

After Bosnia and Herzegovina had resolved within the framework of the wars of independence from Yugoslavia, the Bosnian national team qualified for the first time in 1993 for a European Championship finals. In the final competition in Germany in 1993, the team of Emir Mutapcic, Sabahudin Bilalovic and former European champion Mario Primorac was led and reached because of the better direct comparison of the quarter-finals after just two wins in six games. There, they finished in eighth place after three defeats in the end. This was the best ever placement, since you until 2011 remained winless in five other finals appearances, so that a qualification for World Basketball Championship or even Olympic Games has not been possible. At the 2011 European Championships arrive in an expanded field of competitors for the first time two finals victories against the representatives of the former Yugoslav republics of Croatia and Montenegro. However, after a disastrous defeat by the Finnish national team with 64:92 you missed because of the poorer direct comparison of qualifying for the second round of the 16 best teams.
