Bosquel

Bosquel ( Picard: L' Boutchi or Ech Boké; " small forest ") is a northern French village with 295 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) by the Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté de communes du canton de Conty, in the canton Conty.

Geography and Economics

The community on the plateau between the rivers Noye and Selle is located approximately 20 kilometers south of Amiens and 5 km east of Conty at the department road D920 (formerly Route nationale 320). It is crossed by a section of the Chaussée Brune skin and to the east of the Autoroute A16 limited ( with a connection point in the municipality ).

In the mainly agrarian community, a metal processing company has settled.

History

In the municipality remains of a Gallo- Roman villa were discovered. Around the 6th century a priory led by clearing work. The clearings were continued in the 11th, 12th and 12th century the Lords of Conty. In addition to the Priory, a parish developed. In 1820 began the industrial development of a in the textile sector. During World War II the town was destroyed to 95% at fighting in June 1940. A recovery plan was created in 1941.
