Bossendorf

Bossdorf is a commune with 367 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region. It belongs to Arrondissement Strasbourg- Campagne, for Canton Hochfelden and the Local Government Association, Pays de la anger.

The settlement Gunter Husen belongs partly to Bossdorf and partly to Schwindratzheim.

History

The origin of the name is no longer known today. It is thought the old Germanic word " Boso " - which means " evil". The village is mentioned in a report by the military engineer Guillin of Neuf- Brisach to 1702.

Bossdorf was an empire village.

During the French Revolution Boss village was a village of Bailliage de Haguenau, the bailiwick of Haguenau.
