History

The estate " La Foltière " was purchased in 1820 by the family of Frontin Buffard. By 1840, this family decided to build the present castle and create a romantic English garden. The old manor house, which was at the time of the French Revolution headquarters of the " Chouans " leader Comte Joseph de Puisaye, was demolished.

In the twentieth century the palace and gardens were left long. In 1994 the estate was bought by Alain Jouno. He began in 1995 to design the new garden and to create 16 poetically inspired gardens. Since then 8 more gardens were designed.
