Bottighofen

Bottighofen is a municipality in the district of Kreuzlingen in the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland.

Geography

Bottighofen located on the shores of Lake Constance. Your neighboring municipalities are Kreuzlingen, Munsterlingen and Lengwil.

History

The village was first mentioned in 830 as Pottinchovum. The area around Bottighofen was inhabited in prehistoric times, as shown by the remains of lake dwellings. From the High Middle Ages to the 19th century, the monastery Munsterlingen was lord of the village.
