Diarra began at AS Real Bamako in Mali with the football game. At the age of 10 he moved to Djoliba AC Bamako.
At eighteen, he came in 1997 to SC Freiburg with which he ascended into the Football League the following year. For Baden, he completed 228 games and scored two goals. For the season 2007/ 08 changed Diarra 1 FC Kaiserslautern. After he came there in the first round due to injuries only three missions, he moved to Swiss club FC Luzern.
In the second round Diarra is established immediately as key players in central defense alongside Dušan Veškovac.
