Boulder County, Colorado
Boulder County [ boʊldɚ ] is a ( County) northwest of the city of Denver in the State of Colorado of the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Boulder.
Boulder, which translates into German with Boulder, is one of the 16 original counties of Colorado, whose number has now grown to 64. In 2001, the city lost Boulder Broomfield, the Denver now provides as an independent municipality in Colorado.
History
Historical buildings
The historic Denver, Boulder and Western Railway Historic District (also known as the Switzerland Trail of America to German: " Path of the Swiss America 's"), located in and around Ward, is a historic trail area in Boulder County. The area was included with the number 80000882 as part of a historic monument on 18 September 1980 by the National Register of Historic Places.
In Gold Hill, the historic Gold Hill Historic District (also known as Gold Hill, 5BL769 ). The area includes the streets of North Street, Pine Street, Boulder Street, Gold Run Street and College Street. It was recorded as a historic district with the number 89000979 on 3 August 1989 by the National Register of Historic Places.
Geography
The County is surrounded from the north clockwise from Larimer, Weld, Broomfield, Jefferson, Gilpin and Grand. The Boulder County can be roughly divided into two halves, the eastern - slightly smaller - part includes the urbanized region around the cities of Longmont in the northeast and the administrative seat of Boulder -based in the south. The city is no longer directly in the metropolitan area of Denver, but is often still counted for metropolitan area.
The western part of the district falls into the front mountain chain ( Front Range ) of the Rocky Mountains, where Boulder still owns shares in the Roosevelt National Forest and Rocky Mountain National Park.

According to the census of 2000, there were 291 288 people in the county. There were 114 680 households and 68 808 families. The population density was 151 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was made up of 88.54 percent White, 0.88 percent African American, 0.61 percent Native American, 3.06 percent Asian, 0.06 percent of residents from the Pacific Islander and 4.67 percent from other races groups; 2.18 percent were descended from two or more races. 10.46 percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 114 680 households out of which 30.7 percent have children under the age of 18 living with them. 48.9 percent were married couples living together, 7.7 percent were single mothers. 40.0 percent were non-families. 26.3 percent of all households and 5.5 percent had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 3.03.
Based on the county the population was spread from 22.9 percent population under 18 years, 13.4 percent between 18 and 24 years, 33.6 percent between 25 and 44 years, 22.3 percent between 45 and 64 years and 7.8 percent were 65 years old or older. The average age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 102.2 males to 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.7 males.
The median income for a household was $ 55,861, and the median income for a family was $ 70,572. Males have a median income of $ 48,047, women $ 32,207. The per capita income was $ 28,976. 9.5 percent of the population and 4.6 percent of families are below the poverty line. Among them were 7.6 percent of the population under the age of 18 and 5.9 percent of the population aged 65 and over.
