Bourbon County is a county in the east of the state of Kansas. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) Fort Scott.

Geography

The County is located in Eastern Kansas, bordered by Missouri and has an area of ​​1655 square kilometers, of which four square kilometers of water surface. History

Bourbon County was formed on 30 August 1855 as original county of free territory and is one of the first 33 counties that were formed by the first territorial administration. It was named after Bourbon County in Kentucky.

Historical buildings

To the east of Fulton is the historic Long Shoals Bridge. The bridge was taken on January 4, 1990 by the National Register of Historic Places under the number 89002182 as an historical monument.
