Bourscheid (Moselle)

Bourscheid (German: Burscheid ) is a commune with 222 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Sarrebourg and Canton Phalsbourg.

Geography

The community Burscheid is about twelve kilometers northeast of Sarrebourg and five kilometers west of Phalsbourg. The municipal area is the airport Phalsbourg - Bourscheid.

History

The town was first mentioned as 712 Parssonevilla and belonged from 1661 to France, was then by the Peace of Frankfurt in 1871 again German and French after the First World War. Even at the time of the Second World War, the region was again under German administration.
