Boutteville

Boutteville is a commune with 59 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Manche in Basse-Normandie region. It belongs to the community association Communauté de communes de Sainte- Mère- Église.

Geography

Boutteville between Sébeville in the West and Sainte -Marie -du -Mont in the East, 6.2 km southwest of Utah Beach, about 10 kilometers north of Carentan and 33 kilometers north of Saint- Lô on the Cotentin Peninsula. The municipality is part of the Regional Natural Park Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin.

Attractions

The Château de Reuville castle and its stud farm from the 19th century. The side and storage buildings date from the 18th century. The castle is privately owned.

The Manor House Manoir de La Cour was built in the first half of the 16th century and enlarged around 1599. It is privately owned.

The Romanesque parish church of Saint- Hermeland dates from the 11th or 12th century, the pointed arch - vaulted ceiling was built in the 13th or 14th century. The porch was built in the 16th century. In the church is the grave slab of Jacques pill Grain, a canon of Coutances, who died in 1587. The grave stone is classified as a monument historique since 1980 ( historical monument ).

Economy

The image of the church is dominated by pastures and fields, where the fields are defined as in the Bocage hedgerows. Main industry in Boutteville is the breeding of domestic animals.
