Box (theatre)

A box is a small, built to the rear or side walls inside the auditorium of a theater, opera house, or cinemas, towards the stage open space with more seats. Theater, outweigh lodges in their auditoriums, lodges theater called. Lodges also exist in stadiums and churches.

Brockhaus images Conversations -Lexikon from 1838 states lodge " called the same in a play at home on the walls to the stage running around and after that to open programs". In addition, it is said in Meyer's Big Conversation Lexicon of 1908, lodges are " open to one side cabinet ... separated by partitions from each other, provided with separate entrances and only a small number of seats spectators cells. " People here make a distinction between ground floor lodges, proscenium boxes, etc. Krünitz (1858 ) results from " Such lodges are in boxes from the first, zweyten etc. etc. Range eingetheilt, according as they have their location and convenience because of advantages over each other."
