Boxtel

( Listen? / I ) Boxtel is a place and a municipality in the Dutch province of North Brabant. Boxtel is located on the Dommel in the middle of the triangle Tilburg, Eindhoven and 's- Hertogenbosch. This made Boxtel early at a traffic junction.

The first mention of Boxtel in the history date from the 11th century. Then the glory of Boxtel was ruled for a long time by noble families, such as the Family Van Horn, Van Cuyk, Van and Van Ranst Merheym.

Castle Stapelen ( Dutch: Kasteel Stapelen ) and St. Peter's Church ( Dutch: Sint Petruskerk ) are monuments in Boxtel.

In the 14th century happened after the tradition in Boxtel, the miracle of the Holy Blood. Still takes place every year on the first Sunday after Pentecost, the so -called blood procession.
