Brachiocephalic artery

The brachiocephalic trunk ( Latinized AltGr Βραχιοκεφαλικός " brachiocephalic vessel master ."); historically also arteria innominata ( " unnamed artery" ), at Vesalius trunk ascending aorta ( " ascending root of the aorta " ) - is the common vascular trunk of the subclavian artery ( subclavian artery) and the common carotid artery (common carotid artery ), which from the aortic arch apparent. In most people, this strain is just right, while the left -sided subclavian artery and common carotid artery originate separately. However, there are many individual variations that are usually without clinical significance. An exception may be the artery lusoria.
