Bracken ( Pteridium aquilinum )
The eagle ferns ( Pteridium ) are a cosmopolitan genus of ferns.
Features
The eagle ferns are perennials and have a long, underground rhizome. The plants are 0.6 to 2 meters high. Fertile and sterile fronds are more or less the same design. They are long stalks and are at a greater distance from each other on the rhizome. The fronds are pinnate three times and have the lower pinnae nectaries.
The sori are combined to form a line-like rim. They are covered by the bent edge of the sheet, creating a false curtain is formed.
Dissemination
The genus is distributed worldwide.
