Bradley Edwin " Brad" Guzan ( born September 9, 1984 in Evergreen Park, Illinois) is an American soccer goalkeeper and national player of Polish descent. Since the beginning of the season 2008/ 09 is in the English Premier League at Aston Villa under contract. He currently plays on loan at Hull City in the Football League Championship.
Playing career
Youth
Guzan played two years for college team from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. He also played for the reserve team from the Chicago Fire SC in the USL Premier Development League.
CD Chivas USA
In 2004 he gave up his college studies and signed a contract with Major League Soccer and in 2005 by CD Chivas USA drafted. He was henceforth one of the few on the team who did not have a Hispanic background. In his first year he was goalkeeper of the club. At the end of the 2007 season, he was named Goalkeeper of the Year.
Aston Villa
On 11 July 2008, the English top-flight club Aston Villa agreed with the MLS and the Club CD Chiva USA via a transfer Guzans. The transfer fee was suspected from 600,000 to 1.2 million pounds, significantly less than the two million pounds, the Aston Villa had commanded in January for Guzan because of the current contract until November 2008. The change was on 1 August 2008 perfect, after the British Home Office had granted the necessary work permit.
Guzan made his first game for Aston Villa in September 2008. He stood in the League Cup game against Queens Park Rangers between the posts. His international debut came on 6 November 2008 against Slavia Prague. On March 22, he stood for the first time in a Premier League game on the pitch after goalkeeper Brad Friedel and compatriot had received a red card in the game.
National
Brad Guzan playing for the U-18 national team of the United States. On 19 February 2006, he played against Guatemala for the first time for the national team of the United States. When Confederations Cup 2009 Guzan came in the group match against Egypt used. With the national team, he came to the finals of the competition. He also belonged to the U.S. squad at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, but came to no use.
2008 took Guzan with the U.S. Olympic team as one of the three allowed 23 -year-olds in the Olympic football tournament in China and in part was when Vorrundenaus in all three matches on the court.
