Brad Pearce (tennis)

Brad Pearce ( born March 21, 1966 in Provo, Utah ) is a former American professional tennis player.

Life

Pearce reached in 1984 at the Junior Wimbledon tournament in the semi-finals, the same year he came to the second round of the Junior Tournament of the U.S. Open. He studied at the University of California in Los Angeles and came to the semifinals of the 1986 NCAA Championship. In the same year he became a professional tennis player and won two tournaments on the ATP Challenger Tour. He also won at the side of Ricardo Acuña the doubles tournament of Houston. The following year, he won with Kelly Jones in Auckland. In 1988, he won the Challengerturnier of Aptos.

On the ATP World Tour, he never reached a final. His highest single listing in the tennis world ranking he reached in 1990 with number 71, after he had advanced to the quarterfinals of Wimbledon, where he lost to Ivan Lendl. This was also his best individual result at a Grand Slam tournament. Overall, Pearce won four ATP Double Tournaments, its highest quotation in the double world ranking he had in 1993 with 24 position

After the end of his professional career Pearce began studying at Brigham Young University, where he graduated with the Bachelor's degree in 1999. Since 2004 he has been head coach of the University. Pearce is married and has six children.
