Brad Wall
Bradley ( "Brad" ) John Wall (* November 24, 1965 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian politician and businessman. Since 21 November 2007 he is Prime Minister of the Province of Saskatchewan. Wall since 2004 has been chairman of the center- right-wing Saskatchewan Party, since 1999, he represents the constituency of Swift Current in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan.
Biography
At the University of Saskatchewan Wall studied management science and political science. His political roots in the Progressive Conservative Party of Saskatchewan who asked the provincial government in the 1980s under Grant Devine. For several years, Wall worked as an assistant to the Minister of Graham Taylor and John Gerich. In 1991 he joined in Swift Current to the position of Director of Economic Development, in addition, he led a seasonal tourist businesses. He was also a member of various supervisory boards and is the founder of the South West Centre for Entrepreneurial Development, a non- profit organization for business promotion.
Wall joined the newly formed Saskatchewan Party ( SP), which was formed in relation to formerly progressive- conservative and liberal politicians out. In the legislative elections in September 1999 he was a candidate in the constituency of Swift Current and was elected by a large margin. In 2003, he managed the re-election easily. On March 15, 2004 he was elected as the new Chairman of the SP and thus was opposition leader. The party had in the 2003 elections still propagates a complete withdrawal of the state from the economy and tax cuts, but under Walls leadership she moved toward the political center.
In the elections on 7 November 2007 Wall led the SP 's electoral victory. The party increased its share of the vote by more than eleven percent and won 38 of 58 seats. Two weeks later took over from his predecessor, Lorne Calvert Wall, the head of government. In the elections on November 7, 2011, the Saskatchewan Party was able to expand their majority and it now holds 49 seats.
