Bradford County (Pennsylvania)

Bradford County is a county located in the state of Pennsylvania in the United States. In the 2000 census, the county had 62 761 inhabitants and a population density of 21 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Towanda.

History

The County was formed in 1810 as " Ontario County " and in 1812 renamed Bradford County.

Geography

The county has an area of ​​3,007 square kilometers, of which 27 square kilometers are water surface. Bradford County is bordered on the east by Susquehanna County, on the southeast by Wyoming County, to the south by Sullivan County, on the southwest by Lycoming County, on the west by Tioga County and on the north by the state of New York.
