Bradley County (Tennessee)

Bradley County is a county located in the state of Tennessee in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Cleveland.

Geography

The County is located almost in the extreme southeast of Tennessee, on the south by Georgia, is about 50 km to the east of North Carolina and has an area of 859 square kilometers, of which 7 square kilometers is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Meigs County, McMinn County, Polk County, Murray County ( Georgia), Whitfield County ( Georgia) and Hamilton County.

History

Bradley County was formed on February 10, 1836 from Cherokee country. It was named after Edward Bradley, a member of the House of Representatives in the 13th Congress.
