Brahim Asloum

Brahim Asloum (Arabic إبراهيم اسلوم; born January 31, 1979 in Bourgoin- Jallieu ) is a former French boxer of Algerian origin.

Amateur

With the French Championship was Asloum than in 1998 and 1999 Second Third flyweight. In 2000, he finally won the national championship in the light flyweight. Professional

Since 2001, Brahim is a professional boxer. In 2002, he was also in the pros French champion in 2003 he won the title of European Champion. In December 2005, he missed the chance for a WBA world title, he was defeated by the defending champion Lorenzo Parra from Venezuela on points. In March 2007, he was defeated in a WBO title fight against the titleholder Omar Narvaes.

On December 8, he then in his third attempt finally succeeded but winning a world title. He defeated the Argentine boxer Juan Carlos Reveco unanimous point decision and so won the WBA champion title in the light fly weight.

6 September 2009 Asloum announced his retirement from boxing. He explained his disputes with the television channel Canal Plus.
