Brainbox

Brainbox was only briefly successful Dutch rock band of the early 1970s, which was founded by guitarist Jan Akkerman and drummer Pierre van der Linden, two future members of the better-known prog band Focus and singer Kaz Lux.

Band History

The debut single of the band that got together in Amsterdam was " Down Man ", in which their progressive blues has been set. They had a number of successful releases such as "Between Alpha and Omega", " Doomsday Train" and "Dark Rose". Shortly after the first album was released, leaving Akkerman and van der Linden, the group in order to join the band " Focus". They were replaced by guitarists Herman Meyer ( † 2000) and Rudie de Quelijoe and drummer Frans Smit. Meyer was later replaced by John Schuursma. After Kaz Lux left the group in 1971, abated the popularity and the group disbanded in 1972.

2004, the group was re-founded by Kaz Lux, but without guitarist Jan Akkerman.
