The river Braldu, also Braldo, is located in Baltistan, in Gilgit -Baltistan in northern Pakistan. It flows through the Karakoram and is formed from the melt water of the Baltoro glacier. Here he is, first Biaho. The similarly large Biafo glacier penetrates a few kilometers downstream before on the orographic right side of the north to the Braldu Valley. The river separates the Baltoro Muztagh mountain ranges, Panmah Muztagh and Spantik - Sosbun Mountains in the north of the Masherbrum Mountains in the south. In the West, the Braldu with the coming of the northwest Basha united to Shigar, which flows in a wide valley to the south and flows into the Indus in Skardu.

The river carries extreme whitewater and was first sailed by Mike Jones with a kayak. Became known, the flow primarily from the fact that Jones, who is considered the pioneer of whitewater driving, drowned in 1978 during a rescue attempt of a fallen friend in the river.
