Bramantino

Bramantino (* 1455 in Milan, † 1536; actually Bartolommeo Suardi ) was an Italian architect and painter.

Bramantino was for a time assistant Donato Bramante, where he received (the small Bramante ) its nickname Bramantino. He accompanied them by themselves to Rome, where he worked in the Vatican. In Milan he the porch of the San Nazaro ( 1518) Church and various paintings in the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana and Pinacoteca di Brera (worship of Christ, a three-part altar of the Madonna, the fresco of a Madonna with two angels ) are attributed. He is said to have performed the scenic designs of Bramante. In 1523, he worked as an engineer at the siege of Milan by the French in the service of the Duke Francesco Maria II. As a painter he was initially under the influence of Vincenzo Foppa, then the Leonardo da Vinci He died at in 1535.
