Brampton Battalion

The Brampton Battalion was a Canadian ice hockey team from Brampton, Ontario. The team was founded in 1996 as a junior team and played until 2013 in one of the three highest Canadian Junior Hockey League, the Ontario Hockey League ( OHL ).

History

The Brampton Battalion was established on 3 December 1996 as a franchise of the Ontario Hockey League. After one and a half years of preparation, the team took on the operation of gambling in the OHL in the 1998/99 season. After playing the first four years in the Western Conference, they were after the relocation of the North Bay Centennials in Saginaw, Michigan, the Eastern Conference allocated. In her first year in the Central Division Brampton immediately won the division title she defended in the years 2006, 2008 and 2009. The greatest success for the Brampton Battalion was winning the Bobby Orr Trophy as the winner of the Eastern Conference in the 2008 /09.

The franchise was relocated to the end of the OHL season 2012/13 to North Bay and renamed North Bay Battalion.
