Brand-Laaben

Brand-Laaben is a municipality with 1222 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Sankt Pölten- Land in Lower Austria.

Geography

Brand-Laaben lies in the valley of the must Laabenbaches district in Lower Austria, about equidistant from the north and Neulengbach grove field to the south.

The area of ​​the municipality covers 34.61 square kilometers. 53.3 percent of the area is forested.

The highest elevation is the Schöpfl ( 893 m) dar.

The municipality comprises the following nine villages (in brackets population as of 31 October 2011):

The municipality comprises the cadastral fire, corner, Gern, Gföhl, gorge, Laaben, Pyrath, Stollberg and Wollersdorf.

History

In ancient times, the area was part of the province of Noricum. In the core Austrian state of Lower Austria lying the place told the eventful history of Austria.

Population Development

According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 1155 inhabitants. In 1991, the municipality had 1123 inhabitants, 1981 and 1047 in 1971, 1119 inhabitants.

Policy

Mayor of the municipality is Helmut Lintner (ÖVP ). Deputy Mayor is Heidemarie Koeberl (ÖVP ).

In the council, there are a total of 19 seats after the municipal elections of 14 March 2010, the following distribution of seats: ÖVP 12, 4 SPÖ, FPÖ 3, no other seats.
