Band History

In 1989, the group of Grand Puba, Sadat X, DJ Alamo and Lord Jamar was founded and got a record deal with the label Elektra Records. A year later, in 1990, they released their debut album One For All.

The group, which had an impact through the Five Percent Nation, as well as the debut album came in for criticism, as they were accused of racism.

Shortly after the album's release left Grand Puba DJ Alamo and the group, as there had been disputes within Brand Nubian. The remaining members led the group then continued with DJ Sincere. Appeared in 1993, the second album In God We Trust in this lineup. The album was considered by critics with mixed feelings, because it is both an incitement against gays included, as well as pro- Islamic texts.

The third, published in 1994 album Everything Is Everything was included in the original cast with Grand Puba and DJ Alamo and drew another criticism. Then the group split. The individual members devoted themselves to their solo activities until they reunited and the album Foundation published in 1998 in the original cast.

The group broke up after that again to follow the individual solo projects further. Was published in 2004 another album together under the title Fire In The Hole. The title of Brand Nubian was in the PlayStation 2 game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas used and All For One PlayStation 3 game Grand Theft Auto IV
