The fire stream just before its confluence with the Else in Südlengern

The fire Bach ( in Enger also Boll dam Bach) is a right tributary of the Else in northeastern German state of North Rhine -Westphalia.

Geography

The lake has a total length of 12.5 km. The catchment area covers parts of five communes of the district of Herford. The body of water rises near Pödinghausen at the city limits to Spengenberg - Lenzinghausen and flows into the Südlengern Else ( rkm 4). Environment

The brook touches or passes through on its way three nature reserves:

  • The 20 -acre nature reserve Bustedter wood in the district Bünder Bustedt and borders the nature reserve Bustedter meadows. Is managed primarily a near-natural beech forest, but also other tree species. In densely populated district of Herford, the area is one of the few large forests.
  • The nature reserve Bustedter meadows lies in a wide valley of fire Bach between frets and Hidden Hausen. The area is also flood retention basins.
