Brandon De Wilde

Andre Brandon De Wilde ( born April 9, 1942 in New York City; † July 6, 1972 in Denver ) was an American actor.

De Wilde was born into a theater family. His father was a Broadway producer and his mother a stage actress. At the age of nine years, Brandon De Wilde made ​​his acting debut in the Broadway play The girl Frankie. For this he was honored as the first child, with the Donaldson Award. 1952 Brandon played the same role in the film adaptation of the substance by Fred Zinnemann. This earned him a Golden Globe Special Award for Best Juvenile Actor.

1953 Brandon De Wilde played the Oscar-nominated role of Joey Starrett in Shane.
