Brandon Dubinsky

Brandon Dubinsky ( born April 29, 1986 in Anchorage, Alaska ) is an American professional ice hockey player. Since July 2012, he plays for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League on the position of the center.

Career

Dubinsky played as a teenager in the junior leagues of the U.S. state of Alaska. At the age of 16, he finally moved to the Canadian junior Western Hockey League with the Portland Winter Hawks. This he spent four seasons faithfully and reached the playoffs every year. His best seasons had the Americans in 2003/ 04 and 2005/ 06, when he was able to achieve much more than a point per game scorer. In addition, he was elected to the two game years into the WHL West Second All-Star Team.

After Dubinsky had already been selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2004 in the second round to 60th place by the New York Rangers, he brought them to the end of the 2005/06 season for the first time in their farm team in the American Hockey League. In the Hartford Wolf Pack, the Center led by ten points in eleven playoff games well and spent the greater part of the 2006/07 season there. In 71 games in the regular season Dubinsky recorded 43 scorer points, which meant that he was appointed for the first time in the NHL squad of the New York Rangers in March 2007. Overall, he came to six inserts had for the playoffs but again in the AHL return. In the summer of 2007, the strikers won in training camp Rangers a place in the squad and then played all 82 season games. In addition, he was invited by the league officials to NHL Young Stars Game. His 40 points scorer eventually earned him the team 's internal awards for Rookie of the Year and the Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award.

On July 23, 2012, he was transferred along with Artem Anisimov and Tim Erixon and a first-round vote for the NHL Entry Draft in 2013 to the Columbus Blue Jackets. The New York Rangers got in return Rick Nash, Steven Delisle and a third-round draft pick.
