Brandon Prust

Brandon Prust ( born March 16, 1984 in London, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since July 2012 when the Canadiens de Montréal in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Brandon Prust began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League, for whom he played a total of three years from 2002 to 2005. In his last season with the Knights, he won with his team both the J. Ross Robertson Cup and the Memorial Cup. The winger was selected during the NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames in 2004 when a total of 70 players in the third round.

In his first two years in Calgary Prust played mainly for their at that time the farm team of the American Hockey League, the Omaha Ak -Sar - Ben Knights. His debut in the National Hockey League gave the Canadians on 1 November 2006 in a game against the Detroit Red Wings. Overall, he played ten times in the NHL in his debut season.

In the 2007 /08 season, he was not appointed to Calgary's NHL team and he played exclusively for the new Calgary's farm team, for which he graduated from Quad City Flames, 79 games. Since summer 2008, Prust was back in the NHL squad of Calgary Flames before he was released on March 4, 2009 to the Phoenix Coyotes. In exchange for Jim Vandermeer the winger was brought back on June 27, 2009 by the Flames.

In February 2010, he transferred in exchange for two players along with Olli Jokinen to the New York Rangers. In three seasons, he played 190 games with the Rangers, scoring 55 points, which he spent at the same time 381 minutes in the penalty box. On July 1, 2012 as a free agent Prust was committed by the Canadiens de Montréal, with whom he signed a four year contract.
