Brandon Rogers (ice hockey)

Brandon Thomas Rogers ( born February 27, 1982 in Rochester, New Hampshire ) is a retired German - American professional ice hockey player who spent six seasons in the American Hockey League and one in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

Career

Brandon Rogers during 2001, graduated from the Hotchkiss School. Because of its good performance in the hockey team in high school, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2001 in the fourth round at 118th place of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. Rogers was thus one of seven players who were drafted in 2001 directly from high school. He then began studying at the University of Michigan and played for the local hockey team Michigan Wolverines in the game operation of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. At the end of the season 2001/ 02 Rogers reached with his team as champions of the CCHA the Frozen Four Final tournament called the National Collegiate Athletic Association, but where they lost in the semifinals. Next year, the championship of the CCHA could be defended, but in the semifinals of the Frozen Four, the team was defeated again. Rogers was the top scoring defender of his team and was voted team in the CCHA All- Tournament. In the 2003 / 04 season, Rogers belonged to the CCHA Second All-Star Team. In his final year as a student, he was the third time master of the CCHA and stood in the CCHA All- Tournament team. Like last year, he left with his team in the second round of the NCAA series.

In September 2005, Rogers participated in the National Hockey League in the training camp of the Calgary Flames. This sent him for the 2005/ 06 season for the Omaha Ak -Sar farm team - Ben Knights in the American Hockey League. After 42 games, he moved in February 2006 to the Norfolk Admirals. For the Admiral Rogers also played the following year and was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. In August 2007 he signed a year contract with the Houston Aeros. After good performances in Houston, he signed in July 2008 a two -year contract with the Minnesota Wild of the NHL. However, Rogers continued to play for the Aeros in the AHL and 2009 came in the playoffs until the Conference Finals. In addition, he was an assistant captain of his team and was awarded the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award from the AHL, which is awarded for outstanding commitment in society. In the 2009/10 season due to injury worsened Rogers services, so that he did not get a new listing of the Minnesota Wild. However, on tryout basis, he remained first in Houston and still graduated from a game for the Aeros. Early November 2010, followed by another tryout, this time at the Lake Erie Monsters. After seven games, Rogers dropped out due to a concussion for an indefinite period and received no contract. After he no longer felt impairments, he moved in February 2011 to HK Poprad in the Slovak Extraliga.

For the 2011/12 season under Rogers wrote again in Europe and joined the HC Bolzano in the Italian Serie A1. There he could be benefits stabilize again and was with his team's Italian Champion. In April 2012, he signed a year contract with the Iserlohn Roosters of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. In Iserlohn Rogers was one of the most important defensive players, so that his contract has been extended for one year during the 2012/13 season. In May 2013 it was again resolved because Rogers ended his career in order to devote himself to a career outside of hockey.
