Brandon Sutter

Brandon Sutter ( born February 14, 1989 in Huntington, New York, USA) is a Canadian- American professional ice hockey player on the position of the center, which is since June 2012, when the Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Sutter began his career in 2005 with the Red Deer Rebels in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League. During the season 2004/ 05 he came there to his first seven missions in the regular season and completed another seven games in the playoffs, where he was able to convince the same with a goal and four assists. The following season he finally belonged to the tribe squad with 46 points and was the best scorer of his team, but missed the playoffs. With the Canadian U18 national team, he participated in the Under-18 Junior World Cup finals in April 2006.

In the season 2006/07 Sutter increased again and was with his cousin Brett Sutter 's third- best scorer of the Rebels with 57 points. Because of its services, the teams of the National Hockey League have been aware of him and in the NHL Entry Draft in 2007, he was selected by the Carolina Hurricanes in the first round in eleventh position.

In August Sutter was appointed to the Canadian U-20 selection, which took against the Russian national team in the Super Series 2007.

In September he took part in the training camp of the Carolina Hurricanes, but returned for the 2007/ 08 season back to the Red Deer Rebels. The Rebels showed major weaknesses and Sutter was still one of the best players in the team, so he was appointed to the Canadian selection for the U20 World Youth Championship 2008, where Canada won the title. In the WHL Sutter missed with the Rebels but the playoffs. With 49 points scorer, he was the top scoring player of the team.

Shortly after, he signed a three - year contract with the Carolina Hurricanes and completed before the summer break a few games in the American Hockey League for their farm team, the Albany River Rats. In the fall, Sutter was able to establish a regular place in the NHL squad of Hurricanes in training camp.

On June 22, 2012 Sutter was transferred during the NHL Entry Draft by the Hurricanes in 2012 along with the first-round draft law, and Brian Dumoulin to the Pittsburgh Penguins, it charges the center Jordan Staal.

Family

Brandon Sutter belongs to a family that is deeply rooted in the sport of ice hockey. His father, Brent Sutter was even players in the NHL and won the Stanley Cup twice. After his playing career, he coached Brandon in both the Red Deer Rebels, and in the Super Series 2007. In July 2007 he was appointed head coach of the New Jersey Devils of the NHL. In addition, Brent Sutter is the owner of the Rebels.

Brandon Sutter's cousin, Brett Sutter, also played with the Red Deer Rebels and led them as captain. He, too, has already been drafted by an NHL team.

His uncle Duane Sutter, Brian Sutter, Darryl Sutter, Rich Sutter Ron Sutter and were all active as a player in the NHL. Duane won with the New York Islanders four times the Stanley Cup and Brian was after his career as a player once Jack Adams Award as the best coach in the NHL. Darryl is currently active in the NHL as coach of the Los Angeles Kings and won with them in the 2011/2012 season the Stanley Cup.
