The Branisko is a small mountain range in the inner Western Carpathians in eastern Slovakia, which separates the traditional landscapes Zips and Saris from each other. The mountain range extends from north to south, and its length is max. 18 km and width varies from 3 to 8 km. The highest peaks are the Smrekovica (1200 m nm) in the northern part and the Slubica ( 1129 m nm) in the south.

The Branisko borders on the following geomorphological scheduling: the Levočské mountains ( Levočské Hills ) and Spisská kotlina the west and north, Bachureň in the northeast, Šarišská highlands to the east and across the river Hornád to Čierna hora (part of the Slovak Ore Mountains ) to the south. The whole mountain is part of the sphere of influence of Hornád.

At higher altitudes pine and spruce coniferous forest grows while continuing deeper dominated mixed forest with linden, oak and hornbeam.

Through the Mountains currently the longest Slovak motorway tunnel, the tunnel runs Branisko ( 4975 m long).
