Brankovice

Brankovice ( German Brankowitz ) is a market town in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers north of Koryčany and belongs to Okres Vyškov.

Geography

Brankovice is located at the transition between the Litenčické Hills, Ždánický ( Ždánický Forest ) and Mars Mountains. The town lies in the valley of the Litava ( Leitha ) at the confluence of the streams and creek Litenčický Pohraniční creek. To the north of the Hradisko (518 m), Lichov ( 381 m ) and Galášky rise (311 m ) in the north- east, the Chroustová (345 m) and Na pasekách (380 m), southeast of the Kravi hora ( 376 m), in the south of the Žaroušky (352 m), Padělky (332 m) and the Brankovický kopec ( 338 m), southwest of the Vysoká ( 347 m ) in the west of Soudný (328 m ) and north-west the Kopanky ( 349 m). By Brankovice the road leads E 50/I/50 from Brno to Uherské Hradiště. On the southern outskirts of the city railway line runs Brno - Veseli nad Moravou that Kopec here in a big loop around the Brankovický is out of the Litava Valley in the Valley of the Kyjovka.

Neighboring towns are Nemochovice in the north, Kunkovice in the northeast, Malínky and Kožušice in the east, Střílky, Dvorek and Blisice the southeast, Koryčany, Mouchnice and Nemotice in the south, Snovídky and Letošov the southwest, Nové Zámky and Milonice in the west and Dobročkovice, Komorov and Chvalkovice in the northwest.

History

Archaeological finds indicate a prehistoric settlement in the area. Thus, a Neolithic grave stool from the period in 1936 during excavation work for a shed found around 2000 BC. More house and grave finds were made in the construction of the business park. Remains of walls on the hillside below the railway station indicate a Slavonic settlement.

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1348 in the country table, as Anka, Vilém and Bohuněk been registered by Brankovice as the owner of part of the goods. Another part of the village belonged to the sovereign. The town's name derives from the name Branek. Since 1373 a pastor is detectable in Brankovice. To 1427 took place in the teaching of John Wyclif distribution. 1481 sold Puta of Lichtenburg along with the castle Střílky also Brankovice to John the Elder of Oynitz. Under Bag by Oynitz Brankovice 1511 was connected to the rule Bučovice. In the following year Brankovice received the forests Chroustová and Vysoká given by Tas of Oynitz. The deed is not recorded in the original, it is merely a copy of the 1778 available. Tas of Oynitz let Brankovice west next to the new settlement Tasovice preferential unit. Around 1530 the teaching of the Brethren was becoming more prevalent. As of 1533 the reign of Wenceslas Boskowitz who was with Anna, a daughter of Tas of Oynitz, married belonged. Wenzel of Boskowitz allowed the Bunzlauer brothers in 1552 the establishment of a house of prayer. 1560 was succeeded by his son Jan Šembera Černohorský of Boskowitz as the owner. With his death, the family of the Boskovice 1597 became extinct in the male line. The inheritance fell to Jan Šemberas daughters Anna and Catherine and their husbands, brothers Charles I and Maximilian I of Liechtenstein. Katherina, who had converted to Catholicism in the 1580s was, to use a Catholic priest back in Brankovice. On November 20, 1690 fire destroyed the church. After Alois Joseph had the Allodgut Neuschloss bought by Liechtenstein 1798 Brankovice was allocated to this. 1828 left the Liechtenstein Brankovice in a schoolhouse built.

After the abolition of patrimonial Brankovice formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Wischau. As of 1869, the Prince of Liechtenstein leased the estate Neuschloss to changing tenants. In 1887 the railway line from Brno on Hungarian Hradisch was inaugurated after the Wlarapass. The Liechtenstein united 1890, the Dominions and Steinitz Butschowitz for Good Butschowitz - Steinitz. The volunteer fire department was founded in 1895. On February 2, 1899 rose Emperor Franz Joseph I. Brankovice to market towns. 1930 a road link was made between the Brankovicer market and Tasov. Between 1949 and 1959 the village belonged to Okres Bučovice and returned to its repeal in 1960 Okres Vyškov. In 1976 the villages Dobročkovice, Kožušice and Malínky were connected to Brankovice. 1985 were still Nemochovice and Chvalkovice added. These villages broke away in 1990 and formed their own communities go again. Brankovice leads since 1998 a coat of arms and banners. Since October 10, 2006 Brankovice again has the status of a Městys. Since 1976, Josef Hlaváč directs the fortunes of the place since 1976 as Chairman of the local National Committee ( MNV ) and since 1991 as mayor.
