Bratsch (Band)

Bratsch is a music group from France, which is known in the field of world music and touring Europe.

It is dedicated to the music of the wandering musicians like the Klezmorim, the Sinti and Roma and Balkan folk, Armenian, Macedonian, Greek music. The above sources are virtuoso transformed into new, enriched with free jazz versions.

Bratsch see themselves as musicians, the neo- traditional music, ie music that you will hold even for traditionally make. In fact, they have achieved in the various festivals as Gadje ( non-Roma ) or goyim ( non-Jews ) at the appropriate ethnicities great recognition.

The name Bratsch they derive from the viola, which was a popular accompanying instrument in the music of the traveling musician.
