History

The history of Braugold Brewery goes back to two breweries, which had formed in the 19th century. Firstly, two beers own farms were bought at the downtown street Large Ark in the years 1822 and 1827 by Volkmar Döppleb. These were middle-class houses on agricultural land ownership right to brew beer, the Biereige possessed. The thus resulting brewery later went on to a family Baumann, who also bought the brewery Schedel 1848. The second line was founded by Christian Buchner in 1823 by buying the brewery to Lauenburg. Under his leadership, the brewery moved in 1888 to its new location in the Löbervorstadt near Erfurt's city parks.

1920 bought the brewery Baumann Buchner AG brewery and closed so both lines together. At the same time the merger was completed with the founded by Carl Adolf Riebeck Leipzig Riebeck Brauerei AG. 1921 were produced in large brewery of the reorganized 100,000 hectoliters of beer.

After the end of World War II, the brewery was founded in 1948 transferred to public ownership. With the entry of the trademark Braugold the brewery in 1956 received its current name. In 1967, the production of today 's best-selling beer brewing Pilsner special gold began. 1969 was formed by the merger of nine breweries in the district of Erfurt VEB Kombinat drinks Erfurt. The Braugold brewery was the parent company and seat of the line of the combine.

After the turn and the associated end of the beverages combine the Braugold brewery was first adopted by the Lich private brewery in 1990. In 1996 it was taken over by the successor to the former owner, the Riebeck group, which included at that time the brewery in Eisenach and the Wernesgrüner brewery. On 1 January 2011 the drinks group Forest Hoff took over the Braugold Brewery.

In the fall of 2010, production in the Erfurt was shut up in the production of wort for the seven types of beer, as the largely run-down brewery building does not allow for a cost-recovery production. The actual brewing process and the bottling is done now in a brewery in Braunschweig.

On the former brewery site age-appropriate housing should be to find, but also accommodation for students and possibly a restaurant brewery. Currently (2013 ) runs the dismantling of equipment and not monumental building.
