Brazilian cruzado
The Cruzado ( Currency Symbol: $ Cz; plural: " Cruzados " ) was from 1986 to 1989 the currency in Brazil. From 1989-1990 was the currency Cruzado Novo.

Cruzado, 1986-1989
The Cruzado replaced the 1986 second Cruzeiro in the ratio 1 Cruzado = 1000 Cruzeiro. The ISO 4217 code was BRC. The Cruzado was divided into 100 centavos.
Coins were minted at 1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 centavos and 1, 5 and 10 Cruzados. In addition, 100 - Cruzado commemorative exist for the centenary of the abolition of slavery ( 1888-1988 ). All coins are made of stainless steel.
Bills
The first Cruzado banknotes were overprints on Cruzeiro banknotes, with the values of 10, 50 and 100 Cruzados. The regular issues existed in the values of 10, 50, 100, 500, 1000, 5000 and 10,000 Cruzados.
Cruzado Novo, 1989-1990
In 1989, the Cruzado Novo Cruzado was replaced by the, in the ratio in 1000 Cruzados old = 1 new Cruzado. He was, like his predecessor, divided into 100 centavos; its ISO 4217 code was BRN. In 1990, the Cruzado Novo was replaced by the third Cruzeiro in a 1:1 ratio.
The coins of the new Cruzados were made of stainless steel and exist in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 centavos and 1 Novo Cruzado. For the 100th anniversary of the Brazilian Republic ( 1889-1989 ), a silver commemorative coin was minted to 200 Cruzados Novos.
Bills
First Cruzado old notes were overprinted, with values of 1, 5 and 10 Cruzados Novos. This was followed by regular issues 50, 100, 200 and 500 Cruzados Novos.
