Brazoria is provided along the Brazos River town in the metropolitan area of Houston, Texas. Although it is eponymous for the Brazoria County, is the seat of the county in Angleton.

In the southeast of the town is the Ellerslie Plantation. In the north- east of the village there is a County Airport.

History

Brazoria was founded in 1828. In April 1838, the first school was opened in 1846 and a post office. 1884, the place had 800 inhabitants and 1890 already 900 From 1892 appeared the first weekly newspaper. Since the railway line was built in Brazoria over, began in the 1890s, a decline of the town, and the seat of Brazoria County was moved in 1897 after Angleton. The population dropped to 1904 to 633 inhabitants, rose until 1929 but back to 1050. The discovery of oil deposits in 1939 near the village led to a revival of the place.
