BRD Năstase Țiriac Trophy

The ATP tournament from Bucharest ( officially BRD Năstase Ţiriac Trophy, formerly BCR Open Romania or Romanian Open) is a Romanian men's tennis tournament.

The Clay Court Competition will be held in Bucharest since 1993 and is currently the ATP World Tour 250 It is the follow-up event of Cologne Open in Cologne. The tournament was held from the beginning usually in September and was one of the last clay court events in the tour calendar. Since the 2012 season, the tournament will take place in the spring before the French Open and was therefore assigned a more attractive date.

The venue is the Arenele BNR. The individual competition has been able to decide yet a Romanian for himself, in 2007, but reached Victor Hanescu the finals; in double contrast Andrei Pavel and Gabriel Trifu 1998 the title got themselves in a purely Romanian finals; Horia Tecau won in 2012 and 2013 than before the last Romanian in the doubles final. In individual could previously only Frenchman Gilles Simon to win the tournament with three hits more than once, in a double this succeeded the Slovak Michal Mertiňák, Lucas Arnold Ker Argentinian and American Jeff Tarango, each with two tracks.
