Breakthru is a rock song by British rock band Queen. He appeared in 1989 on the album The Miracle. Released as a second single, the song reached number 7 in the UK charts in the Netherlands and # 4 in Ireland Rank 6 The title is featured on the 1991 compilation album Greatest Hits II published.

Song

Produced by Queen and David Richards song begins with a 34 -second, slow, vocal- and piano -based intro, which Freddie Mercury originally composed for another, never perfect song. The intro is eventually abruptly in the second part of the song, written by Roger Taylor. The first piano gives way to a bass -borne, rising rhythm, which merges with the incidence of Mercury's vocals and synthesizers in a rocking, brisk, later coined by Brian May's guitar arrangement. The text, which general feelings and interests of the singer in terms of a second person ( honey ) expresses leads regularly in the title of the song, Breakthru, "the last breakthrough," or ( in a metaphorical sense to ebendem ) the breakthrough from rain to sunshine:

Breakthru, yeah, to the sunshine from the rain.

In the chorus it says again:

If I could only reach you If I could make you smile If I could only reach you That would really be a breakthru.

The text also includes slightly ironic passages:

I get religion quick 'Cos you're looking divine. (I'll immediately religious, because you look so divine. )

The song ends after a song matching, aggressive solo by Brian May and repeated the chorus with a re- apprehension of the bass particular topic.

Video

The music video first shows during the intro a masked woman ( Taylor's former partner Debbie Leng ). At the beginning of the second song parts by breaking a locomotive to match the sung Breakthru, a brick wall: The Miracle Express, a steam locomotive with a suitable inscription, which has been redesigned specifically for the video. Inspired live performances you can see the four band members playing together on the platform of a railway wagons. Freddie Mercury performs his usual gymnastic exercises with a microphone.

The clip by Rudi Dolezal and Hannes Rossacher was filmed ( DoRo ) within two days on the Nene Valley Railway in Cambridgeshire.
